This past Saturday, in what was a surprise, long-time tag team The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) officially parted-ways with WWE on mutual terms, after it was reported TKO had asked the duo about restructuring their seven figure contracts, which both signed in 2025 that would have taken them through 2030. They chose their releases with a 90-day non-compete over less money.
Fightful Select reported on Saturday that behind the scenes, the recent departures in WWE are said to be part of a larger financial directive from TKO, with sources noting the company has told WWE that they must reduce the payroll by millions.
