ake Hager’s Bellator 231 fight ends in a no-contest due to illegal strikes

The third Bellator fight at for current AEW star Jake Hager’s Bellator 231 last night ended in a no-contest due to illegal strikes. 

The fight, which took place at Mohegan Sun Casino was stopped in less than two minutes when Hager connected with a hard knee to the groin of Anthony Garrett, his second illegal low blow.

Referee Dan Miragliotta ruled it unintential and declared the fight a no-contest. 

Hager, who won his first two fights with Bellator had fellow Inner Circle members Santana, Ortiz and Sammy Guevera cheering him on at cageside.

Even thought there was an AEW logo on his banner, the promotion was not mentioned during the broadcast, nor were the Inner Circle members identified by the commentating team of John McCarthy and Mike Goldberg.

Hager is now 2-0 with one no-contest, while Garrett is 4-2 with no-contest.
