AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT ratings for January 1, 2020 are now in.

AEW Dynamite, their first show in two weeks, going head-to-head against WWE NXT, drew an average of 967,000 viewers on Wednesday night according to a report by Showbuzzdaily.com.

This is up from the show two weeks ago that drew an average of 683,000 viewers on TNT. Dynamite came in at No. 13 for the night on cable in the 18-49 demographics, up from No. 30 where they placed last week.

This week’s episode of NXT, which was an awards show that had no wrestling matches, drew an average of 548,000 viewers on Wednesday night.

This is down from last week’s show that averaged 795,000 viewers. NXT came in at No. 66 for the night on cable in the 18-49 demographics, down from No. 27 where they placed last week. This is the first time they have placed outside the Top 50.

In overall viewership, AEW Dynamite defeated WWE NXT in the first head-to-head battle of 2020 in the so-called “Wednesday Night War” by 419,000 viewers.

Demographic Ratings for AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT

NXT, which featured the Year-End Awards and no wrestling, averaged a 0.15 rating among adults 18-49. This is down from last week’s 0.27 rating.

AEW Dynamite, headlined by a six-man tag team match, averaged a 0.36 rating among adults 18-49. This is up from last week’s 0.25 rating.
