Chris Jericho took to Instagram to announce that AEW has signed wrestling veteran Dr. Luther to an official contract that includes a position in the AEW offices as well.
Luther, 51, has appeared in AEW over the last four months.
Jericho noted that Luther has “impressed a lot of people over the last 4 months and finally was rewarded with a chance of a lifetime, not in the but in the @aewontnt office as well.”
Luther started his wrestling career in Stampede Wrestling in 1988 where he wrestled until 1992. He then appeared in Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling from 1992-1994. He then went to work for WAR and IWA Japan from 1995-1997. He then moved on to the independent scene from 1997-2020.
He made his first appearance for AEW on the January 8, 2020 episode of Dynamite during the Women’s World Championship Match between Riho and Kris Statlander.
