AEW and NJPW have established a working relationship, deal said to be done

AEW and NJPW working relationship

All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling have a working relationship.

According to F4WOnline, a “deal is done” on a working relationship between AEW and NJPW.

KENTA’s made a surprise appearance at this past Wednesday night’s Beach Break Special.  Also, next week on Dynamite, is a lights out match with KENTA and AEW World Champion Kenny Omega vs. Jon Moxley and Lance Archer.

It is being said the force behind the deal with AEW was New Japan’s desire to have Jon Moxley defend the IWGP US title he won back in January 2020 against KENTA. However, because of pandemic-related travel restrictions, that was unable to happen.  NJPW also didn’t want to strip Moxley of the title. Since KENTA lives in Orlando, Florida, that makes the match possible, but since it would have to be in the US, a deal had to be struck with Tony Khan first.

Moxley vs. KENTA for the IWGP United States Title will air on the February 26th New Japan Strong, which was recently taped.
