During an appearance on Talk is Jericho, Saraya confirmed she did talk to Paul Levesque before signing with AEW and did consider returning to WWE.
Some of the highlights are below:
She said that Levesque thought it was her decision to leave as he was not present at the time her contract was not renewed by Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis.
Saraya said she was thinking about returning, but questioned if she would be “100% happy going back.” She said she has no issues with WWE, but she felt there were so many years where she could have been utilized more.
Chris Jericho revealed he pushed Tony Khan to call Saraya and at the same time, WWE was calling her. Jericho said Jon Moxley thought that she was heading back to WWE after a talk she had with Renee Paquette, and that Jericho mentioned to Khan again he needed to call Saraya himself.
Saraya said she questioned if there was any interest after not hearing from Khan for a few months, but after talking to Jericho, Moxley, Paquette and Britt Baker, and then Khan, she wanted to give AEW a try.
She did say that her neck is healthy and feels fantastic, but still wants to take it slow when it comes to getting physical. She wants to be smarter based on what happened in WWE in 2017 and not be a “bump monkey” anymore.
