Triple H clarifies initial reports of Drew Gulak being released

During the Backlash Post-Press Conference from France, a French reporter asked Triple H about PWInsider and FIghtful’s reports on Friday about was asked if Drew Gulak had been released and if it was a direct result of the accusations made by Ronda Rousey.

Triple H said Gulak was not released and that Gulak’s contract was ” just not renewed.”

“We release talent all the time. NFL releases four to five hundred people a year. We release talent all the time. It’s part of what we do. You can’t just hire people, bring them in, keep hiring more people and just keep bringing them in. An unfortunate part of the job is talent gets released. Can I say he was released? He was not released. “If you are going to cite news sources, at least pick good ones. His contract was just not renewed.

Gulak came under fire after facing accusations from Ronda Rousey back on April 2 during an appearance on NewsNation. Rousey claimed that he pulled at the string on her sweatpants backstage at a WWE event in 2022. The interview clip with Rousey which could be seen on the X account for NewsNation, has since been removed.

Gulak responded on social media stating the pulling of Rousey’s string on her sweatpants was an accident, as he was attempting to shake her hand. It was later reported that WWE investigated the claim.

Gulak had been part of the No Quarter Catch Crew faction on NXT, but was written off NXT programming during the April 16 episode when Tony D’Angelo and The Family said that they “took out the trash” for No Quarter Catch Crew.
