Former WWE champion sees success in MMA return on Netflix

In her first MMA fight in nearly a decade, Ronda Rousey faced Gina Carano at the MVP MMA 1 special taking place May 16.

The main event of the show, which aired live on Netflix, saw the former WWE Women’s Champion defeat Carano swiftly with a double leg takedown into an armbar, forcing a submission at 17 seconds.

After the bout, Rousey put over Carano for influencing her but expressed she hand no interest in returning to fight again as she wants to have more kids.

In her own post-fight remarks, Carano said she felt good and wanted the fight to go longer, with the door potentially open for a return.

The event took place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, with such MMA names as Nate Diaz, Francis Ngannou, and Junior dos Santos fighting elsewhere on the main card.
