Lance Archer reveals prior injury, makes statement regarding return

As previously reported, Will Ospreay defeated Lance Archer at the New Japan event Dominionn to become the new #1 contender to the United States Heavyweight Championship, gearing up to face champion Kenny Omega at the Forbidden Door event later this month.

Speaking backstage after the event, Archer commented on his loss, revealing the challenge he has had to face in dealing with a torn tricep.

“There’s a reason I haven’t been wrestling a lot, and it has nothing to do with bad booking…. What everybody doesn’t even realize that I’ve been battling a torn tricep and I’ve kept getting it quiet.

I didn’t tell everybody because I don’t need your sympathy, I don’t need your get well wishes. I don’t need anything. I just needed time, and now I’m back.”

Archer would go on to put everyone within the ranks of New Japan, AEW, and elsewhere “on notice” declaring that he is the one they should be afraid of.
