NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion KENTA took to Twitter on Thursday to respond to an initial report from Fightful Select that at the June 25 Forbidden Door II, PPV, he (KENTA) vs. Punk was a planned match for the event. It was also said in the report that Punk “wasn’t thrilled” on working with KENTA.
ESPN is set to release an an interview on Friday with Punk, which is being said could “blur the lines” regarding concerns in AEW. Punk discussed a number of topics in the interview, including KENTA and The Elite.
It was noted that AEW did set up the interview and monitored things, but that Punk spoke in a way that would blur the lines to create buzz for upcoming events.
