Fightful Select’s Sean Ross Sapp has learned that AEW Executive Vice President Kenny Omega underwent surgery last week to help with the recovery from diverticulitis.
Sapp notes that Omega underwent surgery in New York back on May 16, which is the reason fans in the area had posted pictures with with.
The report from Sapp concludes by noting that at this time, there are currently no creative plans for Omega, as AEW is expecting a long recovery. Omega had been out of action since December 2023 before he was pulled from the World’s End PPV. Omega returned to AEW TV back on May 1 episode of Dynamite, only to be attacked by The Elite, which was to write him off AEW television for a long period of time.
