As first reported by Bodyslam.net and then picked up by F4WOnline, Jake Hager is reportedly gone from AEW.
It has been said that sources have confirmed to Bodyslam.net Hager’s AEW contract did recently expire and that he did not re-sign, thus making him a free agent. Furthermore, it was stated that the decision was believed to be mutual between the two sides.
Hager made his AEW debut back on the premiere episode of AEW Dynamite, which aired October 2, 2019. He would join Chris Jericho’s Inner Circle faction. He would not make his in-ring debut with the company until the Revolution on February 29, 2020. After the Inner Circle split, Hager would then go on to be part of the Jericho Appreciation Society, which eventually split up.
Hager’s last match in AEW was back on the February 23 episode of Rampage, with a loss to Roderick Strong.
The news of Hager’s reported departure comes just after WWE Hall of Famers Arn Anderson and Mark Henry revealed they would be leaving AEW after their respective contracts expire.
Henry’s contract expires on May 28 and Anderson’s contract expires on May 31.
