In an interview with Denise Salcedo, Tay Melo expressed her gratitude about returning to AEW, particularly working with Anna Jay.
The conversation turned toward recent speculation of AEW introducing women’s tag team championships, after Tony Khan remarked in May that he believed there are “a number of great tandems” in the women’s division:
I’m definitely happy to be back with Anna. Looking forward for what’s going to happen in AEW with me. I don’t know much, but I’m so happy. I have been reading about the titles, the tag titles, so maybe it’s in the future — who knows? TayJay is here and we’re waiting for it. We have been working together since day one. So it’s a dream for us. If it happens, we’re here and we’re coming for it.
Melo returned to AEW at Fyter Fest, coming to the aid of Jay against Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford before facing the pair at Summer Blockbuster the following week.
