UPDATED – Report: Injury update on former AEW champion following Revolution

Updated 2:35 pm ET 3/20/26

Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful Select has provided an update on the status of Toni Storm. Sapp indicates in this latest report that Storm is not cleared to wrestle through the rest of the year at minimum and that “there are already plans in for the attacker storyline and a creative direction for it.”

Sapp also notes it was very deliberate that Storm was taken out backstage in a non-contact angle before Wednesday’s Dynamite went on the air. AEW aired the angle during the show and posted to their social media accounts (which can be seen below).

Sapp added the room where Storm was discovered was purposefully filled with Easter eggs to encourage speculation of who the mystery attacker could be. Sapp wrote, “As things stand, Storm will not be in the ring any time soon.”

Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline has reported that Toni Storm will be out of action for ‘a long time’ due to injury.

It was further noted that this was the reason Mina Shirakawa filled in for the former AEW Women’s World Champion to face Marina Shafir on the 3/18 edition of Dynamite.

Storm last competed at the Revolution pay-per-view event, defeating Shafir before confronting Ronda Rousey when the latter made a surprise appearance.

A clip was shared online by the company of Storm being found in her locker room, bloodied as Shirakawa and Luther attended to her.

The extent of the injury was not disclosed as of this writing, nor was there a timetable for Storm’s return to the company.
