AEW plans to honor original Midnight Express tag team member

During a recent appearance on ABC affiliate WAAY-TV in Huntsville, Alabama AEW head Tony Khan said the promotion plans to honor original Midnight Express founder and tag team member, Dennis Condrey during the May 30 episode of Collision at the Von Braun Center.

“The memory of Dennis Condrey is very important to us. I had met Dennis Condrey, and I’m a huge fan of Dennis Condrey,” Khan said. “I have so many things that I can say about the life and legacy of the late, great Dennis Condrey – a legendary professional wrestler who touched so many people.”

Condrey passed away at his home in Huntsville, Alabama, back on March 20, 2026 at the age of 76, after suffering a fall and breaking his neck, severely injuring his spinal cord and paralyzing him from the chest down.

AEW paid tribute to Condrey back on the August 5, 2023 episode of Collision.
