AEW star Kyle Fletcher revealed on his latest vlog that he did not need to undergo surgery in order to make his return, which took place this past Sunday at Double or Nothing.
Back on the March 28 episode of Collision, Fletcher tore his meniscus and also suffered a fracture in his ankle and the top of his tibia. He said the doctors estimated there was a 90 percent chance the meniscus tear would require surgery, but that he was informed that he would be avoiding it.
However, Fletcher did note that despite his return on Sunday, where he attacked Konosuke Takeshita after he defeated Kazuchika Okada for the International Title, AEW doctors have not yet cleared him for a full return.
“I don’t have to have surgery. Awesome news. I was given initially 90 percent chance of surgery. No surgery required. Just healing. That’s my job. My job now is to rest in Chicago. My PT pretty much gave me the all clear. We had a last session, but that doesn’t technically mean I’m cleared to return to the ring, but now I can go back to work and start the process of the AEW doctors clearing me to get back in the ring, which is what we’ve been waiting for.”
