Mustafa Ali requests his release from WWE

According to a new report from Fightful, an argument Ali had with Vince McMahon on an idea that McMahon made to Ali regarding the direction for his character could have been the reason for Ali has not been used.

WWE Superstar Mustafa Ali (real name Adeem Alam) has taken to Twitter with a video requesting his release from the company.

Ali said the following in his video post:

“I have a message that is much bigger than my dreams in pro wrestling. Despite my best efforts, I will not be able to deliver this message while working with WWE.

Therefore, I am requesting my release from WWE.”

Ali wrestled last during the October 29, 2021 episode of WWE SmackDown, where he lost to Drew McIntyre. Ali, then took time off for paternity leave last November, as he and his wife welcomed his third child.

It was also last November, Ali posted a “better America” video to Twitter that was reportedly going to be used for a storyline that was apparently scrapped.

Ali first signed with WWE in 2016.
