Gable Steveson training full-time at WWE Performance Center after heart procedure

According to a new report by ESPN, Gable Steveson is now training full-time at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL after undergoing a heart procedure last month.

The report notes that Steveson underwent an ablation to treat Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome. He is said to be training under the guidance of Fit Finlay.

According to the Mayo Clinic’s website, Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome, causes an extra signaling pathway between the heart’s upper and lower chambers, which then causes a fast heartbeat. It is said to be a condition present at birth (congenital heart defect), and is fairly rare. It is also said that the fast heartbeats seen in WPW syndrome usually aren’t life-threatening, but serious heart problems can occur.

Treatment of WPW syndrome may include special actions, medications, a shock to the heart or a catheter procedure to stop the irregular heart rhythm.

Steveson told ESPN WPW syndrome was discovered in 2021 prior to his competing in the Olympics in Tokyo. He also said that he did not undergo the ablation until WWE’s medical team guided him through a process that “spanned many months.”

ESPN also said WWE recommended top cardiologists for Steveson. Back in September of last year, WWE announced Steveson had signed a multi-year contract. He was drafted to Raw during the 2021 draft, but still has yet to have his first match in the company. He also made appearances at the 2021 SummerSlam event and WrestleMania 38 this past April.

Steveson’s brother, Bobby is also signed to WWE, and currently is on the NXT brand under the in-ring name of Damon Kemp.
