Mercedes Mone’ reportedly agrees to contract extension with NJPW/Stardom

According to a report Saturday night by F4WOnline, Mercedes Mone’ and Bushiroad have agreed to a contract extension for current NJPW/Stardom contract. No details were given on the terms or length of the new deal.

This news has come just hours before Mone’ is set to defend the IWGP Women’s Title against Mayu Iwatani at Stardom All Star Grand Queendom on Sunday night.

Also according to the report, Mone’s next match will be on an event in the United States. However, there were no further details given on when or where.

F4WOnline concluded by saying there has been some question as to Mone’s contract status. Bushiroad had previously confirmed her contract was to expire after Saturday night’s event. However, Mone’ said during a previous interview that was not the case, as she was possibly alluding to the fact a new deal had already been done. In a different interview she did this past week, Mone’ said Japan was becoming her second home and that she was “committed to staying here to make history.”

Mone’, (former WWE Superstar Sasha Banks), debuted at this past January’s NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 event and confronted then-IWGP champion KAIRI, challenging her for the Title. Mone’ then would go on to defeat KAIRI at the Battle in the Valley this past February held at the San Jose Civic in San Jose, CA.

During last Saturday’s Stardom event, Mone’ made a surprise appearance attacking Mayu Iwatani.
