Charlotte Flair and Liv Morgan set to star in new wrestling themed film

According to Fightful Select, WWE Superstars Charlotte Flair and Liv Morgan are set to star in a new movie on the life of former NWA World Women’s Champion Mildred Burke. The film will focus on Burke’s life, career and marriage to promoter Billy Wolfe.

Fightful Select further notes the movie is scheduled to begin filming in Louisville, Kentucky next month.

Flair is playing the role of June Byers, who was inducted into the Legacy Wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2017. Morgan will play the role of Clara Mortensen, who was billed as the first NWA Women’s World Champion. The role of Wolfe will be played by Josh Lucas and Marie Avgeropoulous will play the role of Babe Gordon.

It was also said that WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross will be working behind-the-scenes on the film, which is based on the “Queen of The Ring” book by Pulitzer-winner Jeff Leen. The film is produced by Aimee Schoof and Isen Robbins, and is written and directed by Ash Avildsen.

WWE inducted Burke into the Legacy Wing of the WWE Hall of Fame in 2016.

As of this writing, there are no further details on when the movie will be released.
