Wrestling legend Terry Funk passes away at 79

Mick Foley announced on social media that Terry Funk has passed away, following a battle with Parkinson’s disease and dementia.

Funk was a WWE Hall of Famer who won accolades all over the world in the course of his career, particularly within the NWA as its World Heavyweight Champion and numerous titles within various territories.

Funk was also something of a star on the silver screen, appearing in the documentary Beyond The Mat in 1999 as well as a notable role in the film Road House starring Patrick Swayze, and most recently appearing on the series Dark Side of the Ring discussing the legacy of FMW.

An outpouring of love and respect has come out on social media for Funk.

On behalf of Wrestleview, we send our condolences to the family, friends, and fans of Terry Funk during this time.
