UPDATED: WWE enacts layoffs in the wake of TKO Group merger

Update (9/15 @ 10:47pm Eastern):

A report from PWInsider has indicated a surprising layoff as Dana Warrior has been let go, after years of being on WWE Creative and as part of community outreach for the company.

In addition, PWInsider reported that the Insights & Analytics team lost most of its employees, with the Marketing, Graphic Design, and Live Events departments also seeing departures.

President Nick Khan issued an email asking all WWE employees based out of Stamford, CT to report to the new WWE HQ this Tuesday for a staff meeting.

With the completion of the WWE-Endeavor transaction leading to the formation of TKO Group Holdings, WWE has begun a set of layoffs after an internal memo was sent to WWE employees stating:

“As part of WWE’s transition into the newly formed TKO Group Holdings, we are evaluating our existing operations and systems to identify potential synergies across the business. This effort includes workforce reductions, which will take place tomorrow [September 15].”

The following list, as reported by Fightful and PWInsider, will be updated as more news develops, and includes:

  • Jamie Horowitz (Executive Vice President of Development and Digital)
  • Catherine Newman (Executive Vice President and Head Of Marketing)
  • Amanda Bloom (Director, Enterprise Master Data & Governance)
  • Andy Levine (WWE Vice President, International & Platform Strategy)
  • Kimberly Kirkegard (Brand Director)
  • Saverio Brighina (Affiliate Marketing Manager)
  • Alexa Gotthardt (Manager, Digital Campaign Management)

PWInsider has noted that talent cuts are not expected in light of the merger, as the listed layoffs are a matter of clearing redundant positions.

There is also a report that the WWE Network and Podcasting divisions have also been affected, but specific details are unclear as of time of writing.
