Kevin Patrick reportedly departing WWE SmackDown commentary team

According to Dave Meltzer at The Wrestling Observer, unless something changes, Kevin Patrick is gone from the WWE SmackDown commentary team.

Patrick has been the play by play announcer for show, alongside Corey Graves who is on color commentary.

As of this writing, WWE has not announced any official changes as to who will be the new replacement for Patrick.

Patrick had been the play by play announcer for Raw with Graves until WWE made some change last August. The company added Michael Cole to SmackDown, as Cole and Wade Barrett moved to Raw at the same time.

The reasoning that Patrick was moved to SmackDown, was that WWE thought by putting Patrick with Cole, it would help Patrick grow better as a broadcaster. Cole was later removed from SmackDown, as he and Barrett serve a the broadcast team for Raw.
