On Wednesday, Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated published a report claiming the card for WWE WrestleMania 40 has already been set. The report also said that matches on top of the card would not be what fans would have expected.
Fightful Select also notes that sources told them, even if the lineup for WrestleMania does get reported, the event can certainly have changes made to it.
The report has Gunther listed as winning this Saturday’s Men’s Royal Rumble Match and then going on to challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, PA.
In addition for WrestleMania 40, Barrasso’s report lists The Rock listed as challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and Cody Rhodes not finishing his story, but squaring off with CM Punk instead. The two had a face-to-face during this past Monday’s Raw.
According to Fightful Select, many within WWE were said to have been “befuddled” by Barrasso’s report and stated that some of what was said by Barrasso in his report are false.
Fightful Select did add that Barrasso is very well liked and respected by those within WWE.
Wrestleview did not publish a report on Justin Barrasso’s article.
