John Cena sets ‘absolute line in the sand’ for age of retirement

During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, John Cena remained firm in his plan to retire from wrestling before the age of 50.

The former WWE Champion, who turns 47 next month, called that age his “absolute line in the sand” for retirement, adding:

“I would like to try to do it before that. But at 50 I’m just going to tweet, ‘Peace out, see ya.’ That’s it, I’m good.”

Cena talked about other avenues he wanted to explore in life, which included being a ‘great husband and partner’ to his wife, Shay Shariatzadeh.

He previously teased a possible appearance at WrestleMania 40, described by Dave Meltzer as something that could potentially be “something fun, short and memorable and with substance.”
