Oklahoma State Athletic Commission issues warning to AEW over Nyla Rose

According the January 3, 2024 minutes from The Oklahoma State Athletic Commission meeting, the Commission has issued a warning to AEW about having Nyla Rose, who is transgender compete against cisgender women in the state.

The commission voted to warn AEW that if Rose wrestles against a (cisgender) woman again in the state of Oklahoma “there will be punitive action made against them.”

AEW made their debut in Oklahoma City at the Paycom Center back on December 20, 2023 for a live Dynamite and a Rampage and ROH TV taping. Rose defeated Alejandra Lion in a match taped for ROH television, which aired on the ROH HonorClub streaming platform.

The meeting minutes note OSAC Administrator Jim Miller was informed by a local promotion that AEW used Rose in a match on the ROH card. Miller then said he called AEW, telling them violated of OSAC rules. OSAC Chairman Mike Bower also noted that wrestling applications in the state of Oklahoma do not ask if someone has undergone gender reassignment surgery, but that boxing, kickboxing, and MMA applications do. Bower made a recommendation for the wrestling application be updated to include the question.

Rose took to X to comment on the OSAC warning to AEW, which you can check out below:
