Jack Perry returns to AEW at Dynasty, helps the Young Bucks win the World Tag Team Titles

Jack Perry made his return to AEW at Dynasty on Sunday night to help the Young Bucks win the World Tag Team Championships.

The Bucks and FTR competed for the World Tag Team Titles in a ladder match. The titles were vacated after Revolution, when Sting and Darby Allin retained against the Bucks, in Sting’s final match.

Below is an excerpt from Alex Kahrs’ AEW Dynasty recap of how it all went down.

Back in the ring, we see Dax and Nicholas climbing the ladder and reaching for the titles as they try to fight each other off…and Dax knocks Nicholas off the ladder with a title tot he face! Dax reaches up for the titles…but a masked stranger enters the ring, knocking Dax off the ladder! Security and officials intercept the stranger…revealing Jack Perry! Nicholas makes the climb all the while, grabbing the titles for the win!

Perry was last seen on AEW programming at last year’s All In PPV at Wembley Stadium in London, England. Perry had been suspended following an altercation backstage with CM Punk, after Perry mocked Punk’s issue with Perry wanting to use real glass in a backstage segment. Perry took a spot on the windshield of a limousine in an FTW Title match against Hook. Before taking the actual spot, Perry looked at the camera and said “Cry Me a River.”

The actual footage was aired during April 12 episode of Dynamite as part of the build to the match between the Young Bucks and FTR.

While suspended, Perry has been competing in NJPW. During his ring entrance at the NJPW Windy City Riot event back on April 12, he came out wearing a jacket with “Cry Me A River” written on the back of it. He has also referred to himself as being a “scapegoat” for Punk’s part of the altercation.

CM Punk was ultimately terminated by AEW back on September 2, 2023. He made his surprise return to WWE at last year’s Survivor Series.
