According to PWInsider Elite, WWE SmackDown is scheduled to return back to a two-hour format on the USA Network, beginning with the taped July 4 episode. WWE will be holding the taping for that show on May 30, after Raw at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA.
We reported on Tuesday, despite recent reports that USA had “no plans” on moving the show away from a three-hour format anytime soon, a trailer for The Rainmaker reveals the series will premiere on August 15 at 10:00 PM Eastern and Pacific time on the network.
However, PWInsider further notes that according to a reader, the 10:00 pm hour will be air Resident Alien.
SmackDown had expanded to three hours back in January.
