The opening match of WrestleMania 42 Sunday saw Brock Lesnar take on Oba Femi in a much-anticipated bout.
Following a loss via pinfall to Femi (as recapped by Mike Tedesco in his live coverage of the event), Lesnar took off his gloves and boots and left them in the ring, signaling what appears to be his retirement from wrestling.
Among those who have reacted to the moment is WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, whose match against Lesnar marked the latter’s first at WrestleMania when they faced off for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 19.
Angle’s own retirement would come after losing to Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35, marking the end of the former Olympic gold medalist’s storied run within the squared circle.
