As first reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, then confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp at Fightful, a number of people within WWE were asked to take a cut in pay.
Mike Johnson noted in is report, “A ‘pretty majorly pushed’ WWE talent was asked to take a 50% pay cut, and allegedly did...I’m not naming the talent because I have no way, yet, to confirm this was the case, but the timing of that claim and what happened the very next day [Kofi and Woods’ departures] was very, very interesting, to say the least. As always, until fully confirmed, take that for what it is, but the timing, especially coming out of WrestleMania season, is notable.”
This news comes follows this weekend’s big news with The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) having mutually parted ways with WWE after the long-time tag team had been asked to restructure their seven figure contracts.
