According to PWInsider, IMPACT Wrestling sources said that Lady Frost was offered a full release of her deal if and when she would put over Masha Slamovich on television so that creative could write Frost off and continue to build Slamovich. However, Frost had instead stopped communicating with the company and requested her release publicly instead.
It was further noted by PWInsider that sources close to Frost denied that this was the case, saying that in communication with Gail Kim, Frost agreed to work TV tapings on July 1 and July 2 in a match against Slamovich. It was also stated that Frost asked for a confirmation “in writing” that working those the dates would then grant her a contractual release. Frost also claimed she asked for that confirmation several times in writing, but communications ceased.
