Trinity on winning IMPACT Knockouts Title; Photo: Mercedes Mone’ and Tamina backstage at the PPV

At this past Saturday’s IMPACT Slammiversary PPV, Trinity became the first woman in the company to make Deonna Purrazzo submit and win the Knockouts World Championship.

In a digital exclusive, Gia Miller caught up with Trinity backstage after the match.

Trinity said the following on winning the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts World Championship.

I’m living the dream living a dream right now. I pictured myself being the Knockouts Champion. Here I am. It’s such a surreal feeling. Gosh, I’m still trying to process it all right now. Deonna is definitely the toughest opponent I have ever faced. To be able to go the distance with her and beat her is a huge accomplishment for me. Now the real, real, real work begins because it’s gonna be even harder to hold on to this.”

This is the first championship gold that Trinity has held since 2017. She is a two-time WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion under her then in-ring name of Naomi.

Mercedes Mone’ and WWE Superstar Tamina were backstage Saturday night at the pay-per-view to show their support for Trinity.

Mone’ (former WWE Superstar Sasha Banks) and Trinity walked out of WWE Raw back on May 16, 2022, which was held at The Scope in Norfolk, VA. The two, at the time were the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. They walked out, citing creative differences. WWE suspended both women indefinitely and stripped them of the belts.
