During an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, current TNA star Jeff Hardy says he has been sober for over three years. Jeff added that a year and half into his sobriety, everything was so majestic, vivid, bright and beautiful.
“Everything is majestic. After about a year of being sober – oh my God, everything is just so vivid and bright and beautiful.”
Jeff’s brother Matt, who was also part of the appearance with Jeff, chimed in and said how happy and proud he is for his brother.
“His work on himself has been second-to-none. And just the place he’s at in his life, I’m just so proud and so happy for him. This is like the best version of Jeff Hardy personally I’ve ever seen that exists right now.”
Jeff also notes his third DUI in 2022 was rock bottom for him. That DUI happened while Matt and Jeff were still signed with AEW. The plan was for them to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships in a ladder match. Jeff was suspended and the belts were put on the Young Bucks instead.
Matt told Helwani that he and Jeff desire to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and have “one last hurrah” with the company and could happen without them leaving TNA because of the working relationship WWE and TNA have.
Matt and Jeff are set to challenge for the TNA World Tag Team Championship in a four-way ladder match later at the Slammiversary PPV at the UBS Arena in Long Island NY on July 20.
The interview portion on Jeff’s sobriety begins at the 47:00 mark of the episode.
