New main event announced for Impact Wrestling’s Redemption PPV on April 22

Redemption PPV

During Saturday night’s House of Hardcore live Twitch special, Impact World Champion Austin Aries announced that he would be defending the Impact Championship against the debuting Fenix and Pentagon Jr. at the Redemption PPV on April 22 in Orlando.

This is a new main event for the PPV following the firing of Alberto El Patron from the company over the weekend after Patron no-showed their live Twitch special on Friday night and an appearance at the WrestleCon convention on Saturday.

Patron was scheduled to challenge Aries for the Impact Championship in the main event of the PPV and even took part in a press conference on Friday to hype the match.

Aries wrestled Fenix and Pentagon Jr. in the main event of the Impact vs. Lucha Underground special on Friday night, with Pentagon getting the win on Fenix.

Patron was originally scheduled to team with Pentagon against Aries and Fenix before he no-showed the event that aired live on Twitch on Friday night.
