– Ring of Honor returns to Baltimore on THIS Saturday, January 5th for another set of “Ring of Honor Wrestling” TV tapings and our first live event of 2013! The fallout from “Final Battle 2012” will be felt and many great matches are scheduled to take place. In addition, a special autograph signing has just been added to the festivities and, suffice to say it, it is loaded with four of the most questionable individuals scheduled for the night: S.C.U.M (ROH World Champion Kevin Steen, Steve Corino, & Jimmy Jacobs) and Matt Hardy! With four competitors like this all sitting down to meet the fans at one time, who knows what could happen and who knows if these four men will ever sit down at the same time in the same place again! Doors open at 6:00p so make sure you’re there early on Saturday to meet Steen, Corino, Jacobs, and Hardy! Tickets on-sale or at the door THIS Saturday!
– All of the names have officially been announced for The 2013 Top Prospect Tournament starting THIS Saturday. All four of the first round matches will take place THIS Saturday and participating are QT Marshall, ACH, Silas Young, Mike Sydal, Matt Taven, Tadarius Thomas, Adam Page, and Antonio Thomas. Don’t forget that ROH Match Maker Nigel McGuinness has stated that the winner of the tournament will receive a great opportunity. Also, Truth Martini has stated that he has his eye on this tournament and all of the fresh “young meat” involved.
– Grizzly Redwood has been added to the lineup this Saturday in Baltimore. Before “Final Battle 2012” went live on iPPV, “God’s Gift” QT Marshall went to the ring in NYC and proceeded to talk trash on everyone and everything. He was upset that he didn’t have a bout on iPPV so he called out anyone in the locker room to come out and face him. Grizzly Redwood answered the challenge and proceeded to get a surprise pin on Marshall within seconds of the bell. Since that time Barrister R.D. Evans has gone on record stating that match was never officially sanctioned therefore it does not count and that loss needs to be wiped away from the record books.
– ROH Match Maker Nigel McGuinness was extremely unhappy with the way that both Matt Hardy and Mike Bennett won their matches at “Final Battle 2012” and refused to grant them a TV title match that both men petitioned for. Instead Nigel chose to reward BJ Whitmer for his toughness, heart, and a true dedication to maintaining honor by giving him a shot at Adam Cole THIS Saturday! Nigel is definitely looking to prove a point to the ROH roster.
– Continuing to make moves and give opportunities, Nigel is also giving Tadarius Thomas the opportunity of a lifetime on January 18th when we return to Dearborn! In front of his home audience, Thomas will challenge World Champion Kevin Steen for the title in an Underdog Challenge! It’s Kevin first defense of the new year and the first time Thomas has ever challenge for the belt. Can this new face on the scene end the eight month reign of “Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare”? – The American Wolves will be in the Tag Team Gauntlet THIS Saturday in Baltimore.
– ROH officials are not looking forward to dealing with Charlie Haas this weekend. Haas feels that he deserves a TV title shot over BJ Whitmer and also believes that the tag team gauntlet should be put on hold until Shelton Benjamin returns and they can participate. Add on top of this that Haas has been strongly warned by the corporate office recently that his language and use of the middle finger is not appropriate for broadcast and our editors have to work overtime to edit Charlie Haas segments on TV.
– Ring of Honor Wrestling returns to Cincinnati and the Taft Masonic Center on February 16th for another big live event! Last time we were there for “Rise & Prove” The Briscoes defended the Tag Titles against Davey Richards & Kyle O’Reilly, BJ Whitmer burst back onto the ROH scene against Jay Lethal, and Roderick Strong & Eddie Edwards had a No DQ battle! Now we head back and aim to deliver another must-see event and you can click HERE to see the first batch of wrestlers who have signed on to compete.
