Joe Koff doesn’t expect Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks in ROH next year

Joe Koff

Ring of Honor COO Joe Koff spoke with WrestlingInc.com this week about the growth of the company in 2018 and big things coming up for the promotion next year.

Koff also discussed Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks and why he doesn’t expect to see them part of the company next year with their current deals set to expire.

“I don’t think so, and I don’t think that’s new news either. They definitely have something in mind… and I’m very thankful for Cody and The Young Bucks and Page and their contributions to ROH. They were part of our great year. They’ll always be a part of the ROH family and I’m always excited when people choose to take a different direction or go in a different direction because it’s exciting for them as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.”

That “something in mind” Koff alluded to appears to be the All Elite Wrestling promotion that Cody and The Bucks are rumored to be starting up in the new year.

As reported earlier, trademarks were filed by All Elite Wrestling, LLC on November 5 by the same addresses as the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars. This is relevant as Tony Khan has been rumored in recent weeks as backing a new wrestling venture.

Cody, The Bucks, Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho and Jim Ross are all rumored to be part of the promotion, although Ross and Jericho have publicly denied any involvement.
