Legendary professional wrestling promoter Jim Crockett Jr. passed away Wednesday at the age of 76.
We had reported on Sunday that Crockett Jr. was said to be in “grave condition” as both his liver and kidneys were failing.
Crockett Jr. was part owner and operator of the legendary Jim Crockett Promotions from 1977 until 1989. The company, which was affiliated with the National Wrestling Alliance, was started by Crockett Jr.’s father. However, due to financial issues, the company was sold in 1988 to Ted Turner, who re-named it World Championship Wrestling. Crockett Jr. was a three-term NWA President, last serving in the role in 1991.
From all of us at Wrestleview, we send our thoughts, prayers and condolences to the family and friends of Jim Crockett Jr. during this sad and difficult time.
