Memphis Grizzlies

The NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies held a Wrestling Night this past weekend featuring Jeff Jarrett against WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler.

A small wrestling ring was setup above the FedEx Forum with Jarrett representing the city of Nashville and Lawler representing the city of Memphis.

Jarrett ended up beating Lawler to capture the Grizzlyweight Championship title. After the match, Jarrett declared he would defend the title again. NFL star DeAngelo Williams then came out with the Grizzlies mascot to accept the challenge. The mascot, Super Grizz, pinned Jarrett to capture the championship.

A small tribute was also held for the late Lance Russell.

This is one of Jarrett’s first appearances since spending time in WWE-sponsored rehab.
