NXT UK Episode 1 results, Jan. 2, 2019: Moustache Mountain climbs over Gallus and into NXT TakeOver

Moustache Mountain rang in the New Year by overcoming Gallus’ Mark Coffey & Wolfgang to earn their place in the Finals to crown the first-ever NXT UK Tag Team Champions at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool. Plus, Jordan Devlin targeted Travis Banks’ patriotism, Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel demonstrated their effectiveness as a tag team against Kenny Williams & Amir Jordan and Jinny outclassed Candy Floss.

Travis Banks def. Jamie Ahmed; got insulted by Jordan Devlin

In the height of the action between Travis Banks and Jamie Ahmed in the opening moments of NXT UK, The Kiwi Buzzsaw once again emerged victorious over his opponent with a Slice of Heaven springboard inseguri off the ropes.

As the dust cleared on his win, Banks received a surprise visit from Jorden Devlin, who blatantly insulted the victorious competitor by questioning his national pride and inferring that he had abandoned his homeland.

Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel def. Kenny Williams & Amir Jordan

One week after Fabian Aichner helped Marcel Barthel score his first NXT UK victory over Mark Andrews, the treacherous tandem joined forces to take on Kenny Williams & Amir Jordan, as they looked to show General Manager Johnny Saint that they are indeed the tag team division’s No. 1.

Despite a dynamic showing of their opposition, Aichner completely neutralized the Lucky-In in the final moments by dropping him on the ring barricade. This paved the way for a brutal two-on-one assault on The Bhangra Bag Boy that led to an impressive victory for the “European Union.”

Jinny def. Candy Floss

Amidst the turbulent competition of the NXT UK Women’s division, the fun-loving Candy Floss brought the full-weight of her colorful offense to bear against Jinny. But, the no-nonsense Fashionista would have none of it, offering her opponent an extreme makeover in the form of A Touch of Couture.

Moustache Mountain def. Gallus’ Mark Coffey and Wolfgang to earn their place at TakeOver

Moustache Mountain squared off against Gallus’ Mark Coffey & Wolfgang in a high-stakes main event to determine the first finalist in the hunt to become the NXT UK Tag Team Champions at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool.

In the height of the ultra-intense matchup that included an epic German suplex by Bate on both members of Gallus, Coffey suddenly waved his brother Joe Coffey, out to ringside and up onto the ring apron. But, before Joe could interfere on his cohorts’ behalf, WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne joined the party and took down the Iron King, opening the door for Bate & Seven to overcome their opponents to earn a place in the Finals at TakeOver.

Nevertheless, Gallus attacked them from behind and ignited a huge post-match brawl. After British Strong Style momentarily vanquished their foes from the ring, Dunne revealed that he had talked to Johnny Saint and that he would face Joe Coffey for the WWE United Kingdom Title at TakeOver.

Gallus then reentered the ring and the two trios continued to brawl as the show went off the air.

NXT UK Episode 2 results, Jan. 2, 2019: Joe Coffey puts Pete Dunne through a table en route to NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool

Joe Coffey made a strong statement as the Gallus’ The Iron King prepares to challenge The BruiserWeight for the WWE United Kingdom Championship at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool. Plus, the continued bedlam between Eddie Dennis and Dave Mastiff resulted into a No Disqualification Match at the Jan. 12 pay-per-view, Wild Boar Mike Hitchman charged down Josh Morrell and Toni Storm overcame Deonna Purrazzo in an extremely hard-fought showdown.

Toni Storm def. Deonna Purrazzo

Following Deonna Purrazzo’s claim that she should face NXT UK Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool, Toni Storm suggested that the confident competitor prove her claims against her in the spirit of “friendly competition.” But in the subsequent matchup, things quickly grew intense, with both competitors leaving everything on the canvas.

Battling back from the incredibly hard-fought encounter against a very game Virtuosa of NXT UK, Storm ultimately triumphed with a German suplex into Storm Zero. As the dust cleared, however, she was suddenly interrupted by the The Mosh Pit Kid herself, Rhea Ripley, who stepped up on the apron to go eyeball-to-eyeball with her TakeOver challenger, holding her title high in the air.

“Wild Boar” Mike Hitchman def. Josh Morrell

After suffering an attack from behind, courtesy of Eddie Dennis, last week, “Turbo” Josh Morrell started off the New Year in a match against Mike Hitchman. But despite his impressive moments of offense, it was the “Wild Boar” who would ultimately reign supreme, hurling himself into his prey with an inverted cannonball senton before flattening him with a vicious splash off the top rope for the three-count.

“Bomber” Dave Mastiff vs. Eddie Dennis ended in a Double Disqualification

Following weeks of mutual chaos which merely intensified their rivalry, Eddie Dennis once again battled Dave Mastiff in a rematch established to finally settle matters between them. It didn’t go quite as planned.

From the word “go,” the two dominant individuals unleashed an absolute demolition derby of pain on each other. But, when they both put their hands on the official during an out-of-control slugfest, the referee was forced to call for the bell and disqualify them both.

This failed to stop their assault on each other, however, and after numerous referees and Assistant to the General Manager Sid Scala were called in to break it up, General Manager Johnny Saint declared that the two intense foes would again square off in a No Disqualification Match at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool.

WWE UK Championship Contract Signing

One episode after the WWE Universe learned that WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne will defend his title against Gallus’ Joe Coffey, the two competitors joined GM Johnny Saint and Sid Scala in the squared circle to sign the contract and make the match official.

Moments after Coffey delivered an impassioned speech and signed the contract, The BruiserWeight suddenly grabbed The Iron King’s hand and snapped his fingers. Signing the contract, the titleholder who had held the title for nearly 600 days, commented that his challenger talked too much and that he would see him at NXT TakeOver: Blackpool.

But, when the emergence of Mark Coffey and Wolfgang distracted Dunne, Joe attacked him from behind and powerbombed the titleholder through the table. As the show went off the air, The Iron King stood over the carnage with the WWE UK Title high in the air.
