Last night at WWE SummerSlam, Becky Lynch was one of two big returns that happened on the show (the other being Brock Lesnar).
Bianca Belair was scheduled to defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks at SummerSlam, but it was announced before the match that Banks was not there. Carmella was initially going to get the title match, but Becky Lynch made her shocking return.
Lynch beat up Carmella before going on to defeat Belair in short order to become the new SmackDown Women’s Championship.
The decision to put the title on Lynch and quickly defeating the highly popular Belair caused some controversy online.
