TNA issued a statement on Friday evening over on Impactwrestling.com revealing that the company had been in “serious discussions” with AJ Styles to bring him back to the company in 2016 (most likely for the Pop TV debut) along with additional discussions involving Drew Hankinson (Doc Gallows) and Chad Allegra (Karl Anderson).
The statement noted that a meeting took place on Nashville back on 12/14 involving a “handshake and written deal” between Styles, Gallows and Anderson. This included start dates being determined along with creative plans, merchandise designs and plane tickets.
TNA revealed that all communication with the three parties stopped over the Christmas holiday and that Styles’ lawyer informed TNA officials that all three “changed their mind” and would not honor the commitment to sign with TNA.
