Bret Hart appears unaware of the rumors that he’s joining AEW

There has been much speculation and rumors that WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart could be joining AEW, to be the new manager of FTR after they recently fired Tully Blanchard. After they fired Blanchard, Harwood then took to Twitter to call out Hart.

While doing a virtual signing for Signed By Superstars on Friday night, Hart was asked if he is going to AEW. It appears Hart is unaware that he has been rumored to join AEW, as the responded with: “Go there and do what?”

It could be that Hart is trying to keep his arrival in the company as a surprise by playing up he has no idea he is going to AEW. However, there has been no reports confirming Hart is indeed going to join AEW. Hart did make an appearance at AEW’s 2019 Double or Nothing PPV, to reveal the company’s World Heavyweight Championship Belt.

In a backstage interview segment with Tony Schiavone, on the March 16 St. Patrick’s Day Slam episode of AEW Dynamite, FTR elaborated on why they fired Tully Blanchard as their manager, when they were interrupted by the Young Bucks. Matt Jackson said to FTR “No matter they do, even if they hired the Best There Is, the best manager in the world, it’s not going to matter, because deep down inside, they will always remain the second best tag team in AEW.

FTR are huge fans of Hart and have become good friends with him. It was during the 2019 WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony, when Wheeler, then under the in-ring name of Dash Wilder, punched the fan that attacked Hart, while he was giving his speech.

The start of the Women’s Owen Hart Tournament Qualifying Matches begin this coming Wednesday on Dynamite, with The Bunny square off against a new talent signee.
