WWE makes changes to announce teams; Jimmy Smith gone; Cathy Kelley returns

As first reported by Variety, WWE has made changes to its commentary teams for Raw, SmackDown and NXT.

Monday Night Raw will now feature Kevin Patrick, Corey Graves and Byron Saxton. Jimmy Smith has exited the company. He first began as the play by play announcer for Raw in May of 2021.

SmackDown will now feature Michael Cole and Wade Barrett who willing be filling in for Pat McAfee until he returns from his College GameDay duties at ESPN.

On SmackDown, both Kayla Braxton and Megan Morant will continue as backstage interviewers. Samantha Irvin will also still continue as the ring announcer. Over on Raw, Mike Rome will continue as the ring announcer.

Cathy Kelley is returning to WWE and will be an on-screen interviewer on Raw. Kelley had previously been with the company as an NXT backstage interviewer before leaving back in 2020 to pursue other endeavors.

And on NXT, Vic Joseph will now be joined by WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. McKenzie Mitchell will continue her role as the main backstage interviewer and Alicia Taylor will still continue as the ring announcer.

All these changes take place effective immediately, starting with the season premiere of SmackDown this Friday.
