One of the longest tenured employees is gone from WWE, talent and staff said to be shocked

According to a report from PWInsider, Adam Hopkins, who held the position of Vice President of Communications with WWE, left the company late last week. It is being said this was shocking and that the general consensus has been “WTF” among talents and other staffers.

The report also notes Hopkins was one of the longest tenured employees in WWE. He initially joined the company’s Fans Services department back in September 1997.  Hopkins was with WWE for over 25 years, which is said to be a record that will likely never be matched or surpassed.

Hopkins was the Manager of Media Relations, Director of Communications and Senior Manager, Public Relations and Corporate Communication.

PWInsider also notes Hopkins was on the front lines for WWE when it came to handing media requests. He built a great reputation for being fair. He had often facilitated interview requests and was very much responsible for just about every WWE-related personality – from Triple H, all the way down to NXT talents. He was given much credit with re-opening the door for WWE to reach out again to the pro wrestling media.

The report concludes by saying Hopkins was not the only recent departure from the company’s Public Relations department. One person had

described it as the equivalent of “Howard Finkel” exiting.
