Report: What is known about the former World Champion on tonight’s WWE Raw Day 1

Fightful Select has published a report on what they know about the former World Champion that will be appearing on tonight’s Day 1 episode of WWE Raw.

The report states that it is not expected to be Mercedes Mone, despite her recent teases on social media. It was also said that the former champion is scheduled to have a full segment during the mid-way point of the show.

Fightful Select further notes that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was in Pasadena, CA which is just a few hours from San Diego, which is where tonight’s Raw will emanate from. The report concluded that when Fightful Select talked to a higher-up behind-the-scenes in WWE, they would not confirm or deny it will be The Rock, but did mention that it was “compelling” when The Rock’s name was brought up.

Per PWInsider, The Rock appeared today on ESPN College Gameday with Pat Macafee from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. Nick Khan was also there.  Pasadena is roughly two hours or so from the Rose Bowl to the Pechanga Arena in San Diego.

There has been much speculation that the former World Champion will be Andrade El Idolo, as he and AEW could not come to terms on a new contract. Andrade finished up with AEW at the promotion’s Worlds End pay-per-view this past Saturday.

Triple H has been teasing on social media that a former World Champion will show up on tonight’s WWE Day 1 episode of Raw.
