The United States Senate has confirmed Linda McMahon as the new Secretary of Education in Donald Trump’s Administration. She was confirmed with a vote of 51-45.
Linda is the 13th Secretary of Education. One of her tasks will be taking charge to dismantle the department’s current structure. She did say, however during her Senate hearing that the Trump Administration cannot shut down the department, as it would require approval from Congress.
Linda served as the head of the Small Business Administration under Trump’s first administration.
Linda and Vince McMahon are currently separated, as Vince, WWE and former Executive John Laurinaitis are still involved in a lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant.
The suit which was filed in January 2024 by Grant alleges sexual harassment, sexual abuse and sex trafficking. Last month, Federal prosecutors in Manhattan have dropped a criminal probe against former WWE CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon.
