Mike Johnson of PWInsider has published a report regarding Asuka’s current status with WWE.
Johnson notes PWInsider was told Asuka is “believed to remain aligned with the company.”
Johnson also indicates a story/report has been making the rounds within WWE that Asuka is returning to Japan for an extended period of time due to a family matter. However, he notes that he will not disclose and cannot confirm this to be accurate.
Fightful Select reported on Sunday that despite the emotional moment following her match at Backlash and the social media response that followed, Asuka may not have wrestled her final match in WWE. The report further indicated Asuka was said to have signed a long-term WWE contract during the summer of 2024, though the exact length of that deal is unknown.
At the time of this writing, Asuka is not advertised to appear on tonight’s WWE Raw.
