A video package runs focusing on Jack Swagger defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Big Show, Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk, Edge vs. Randy Orton and John Cena defending the WWE Championship against Batista in an I Quit match.
A graphic opening hits welcoming us to WWE Over The Limit. We then go live to the Joe Louis Arena where a series of pyro goes off in the entrance area. Michael Cole is the first to welcome us to the show along with Jerry “The King” Lawler and Matt Striker. They then pass it on to the Spanish Announce Team.
Kofi Kingston is out first to kick off the show.
WWE Intercontinental Championship
Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Kofi Kingston
Kofi Kingston lights up Drew McIntyre with a series of body kicks, a dropkick and then sends McIntyre over the top rope quickly with a clothesline. Kingston with a suicide dive that takes out McIntyre. McIntyre gets in a few shots and rolls back into the ring quickly. Kingston with a quick forearm and McIntyre rolls out again. Kingston tries to drag McIntyre back in by his hair and McIntyre sends Kingston into the steel ring post. McIntyre with a series of punches and kicks to Kingston in the corner. McIntyre with a body submission on Kingston. Kingston fights out with a big hip toss. Kingston attempts a dive backwards from the corner and McIntyre catches him with a big kick to the gut. McIntyre then mounts Kingston and gets in some big rights. McIntyre with a dive from the second rope and Kingston gets up his boots to block. Kingston with a series of dropkicks to McIntyre, jumps up in the top turnbuckle, gets in a few right hands and then drops McIntyre. Kingston catches McIntyre with a kick to the face landing in the corner and connects with a cross body for a close two count. McIntyre immediately responds with a big knee to the gut. Kingston then drives McIntyre shoulder first into the steel ring post. McIntyre remains in the corner and Kingston lands his Boom Drop resulting in a two count. McIntyre dodges a Trouble in Paradise attempt. Kingston then counters a hook DDT attempt and Kingston hits the S.O.S. Kingston covers McIntyre and gets the pinfall.
Winner & NEW WWE Intercontinental Champion: Kofi Kingston
After the match, Kofi Kingston celebrates with the WWE Intercontinental Championship. We see a replay of the finish. Back live, Kingston continues the celebration at the top of the entrance ramp. Drew McIntyre then grabs the mic and calls out Teddy Long. McIntyre said he will only say this once. “This Pay Per View is going to stop right now until Teddy Long gets out here, reverses the decision and declares me the Intercontinental champion.” Matt Hardy’s music hits and hits the ring. McIntyre goes on the attack and Hardy catches him with a Twist of Fate.
Backstage, we see CM Punk looking into a mirror and declaring himself the savior as Luke Gallows and Serena repeat his name. Punk promises he will beat Rey Mysterio tonight and Mysterio will join the Straight Edge Society – dubbing him Straight Edge Mysterio.
A video package runs highlighting the recent events between Ted DiBiase and R-Truth on Raw.
Ted DiBiase w/ Virgil vs. R-Truth
Lock up and DiBiase goes to work on R-Truth’s left arm. Truth counters working over DiBiase’s left arm. Truth with a quick arm drag on DiBiase. Truth drops DiBiase in the corner with lots of right hands and then catches DiBiase with a huge kick to the head. Truth sends DiBiase over the top rope and Virgil checks in on him. Truth forces Virgil to back up. Back in the ring, a distraction from Virgil allows DiBiase to hit a reverse neckbreaker. DiBiase tosses Truth to the outside and drives him into the padded guard railing. DiBiase tosses Truth back in the ring and drops him on the mat face first. DiBiase sends Truth face first into the corner. DiBiase gets a headlock applied on Truth. Truth counters a sledgehammer from the top by DiBiase. Truth then tosses DiBiase up to the top turnbuckle, gets in a big slap, jumps up with DiBiase, DiBiase with some right hands sending Truth back down to the mat, DiBiase stands up on the turnbuckle, Truth hits the ropes and DiBiase crotches himself. Truth with a big hip toss and facebuster on DiBiase for a close two count. DiBiase dodges an axe kick from Truth and then drops Truth with a modified electric chair. DiBiase covers Truth and gets another close two count. Truth with a tackle takedown on DiBiase. DiBiase grabs the ropes to break it up. Truth with a suplex stunner on DiBiase that results in a two count. Truth with his corkscrew forearm to the head. Truth covers DiBiase and gets the pinfall.
Winner: R-Truth
After the match, Virgil gets into the ring with the Million Dollar title belt in hand. Virgil is checking on Ted DiBiase as we go to a replay of the finish.
Backstage, Teddy Long is on the phone when Drew McIntyre walks in and gets in his face. McIntyre demands he change the finish of his match right now. Long said he can’t do that. McIntyre said he can do that and also demands he fire Matt Hardy. Long again refuses. McIntyre then starts tearing apart Long’s office. Long yells at McIntyre to stop. McIntyre stops and looks at a picture of Martin Luther King Jr. hanging up. Long beds McIntyre to not do anything to it since it means a lot to him. McIntyre says he will stop since Martin Luther King Jr. is more of a leader than Long ever was.
A video package runs highlighting the events between Rey Mysterio and CM Punk heading into tonight’s match where if Mysterio loses he must join the Straight Edge Society and if Punk loses he must shave his head.
S.E.S. Pledge vs. Hair Match
Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk
CM Punk with a big kick early on that sends Rey Mysterio flying back. Mysterio fights back with some right hands in the corner on Punk. Punk quickly drops Mysterio and then drives his knee into the back of Mysterio. Punk launches Mysterio over the top rope to the outside. Mysterio rolls back in the ring when Punk rolls out, hits the ropes, slides out and catches Punk with a tilt-a-whirl huricanrana. Mysterio with a springboard huricanrana that sends Punk into the ropes. Mysterio goes for the 619 early and Punk quickly counters. Punk then grabs Mysterio and launches him through the ropes and face first into the barber chair that was sitting a ringside. Mysterio took a real big shot to the head there. Punk was busted open during the exchange and the referee starts to clean up Punk. A WWE trainer hits the ring and attends to Punk’s cut. Mysterio is slowly recovering on the outside and slowly slides back in the ring. We see a replay of where Punk might have busted himself open. As Mysterio is recovering on the ring apron, Punk breaks free from the trainer and referee attending to him and hits a baseball slide.
The fans were just starting a “BORING” chant when Punk when on the attack to resume the match. Punk keeps the attack going with a suplex to Mysterio on the outside of the ring. Back in the ring, Punk applies a modified triangle lock on the head of Mysterio. Mysterio with a close pinfall on Punk and Punk immediately responds with a huge clothesline. Punk with a series of elbow drops on Mysterio. Lawler and Striker are going back and forth on commentary. Mysterio with a sunset flip powerbomb on Punk for a close two count. Mysterio with a huge springboard cross body on Punk. Mysterio with a springboard senton, Punk is back up, Mysterio with a flip up to the shoulders of Punk and drops Punk back down. Punk drops Mysterio head first into the top turnbuckle. Mysterio fights back sending Mysterio into the ropes. Punk counters with a hook backbreaker on Mysterio. Punk covers Mysterio and Mysterio kicks out. Punk has Mysterio up for the GTS, Mysterio tries to counter into a huricanrana, Punk holds on and then powerbombs Mysterio into the corner with a ton of force.
Punk sits up on the top turnbuckle, jumps and catches Mysterio with a bulldog. Punk with a series of kicks to Mysterio with the final kick catching Mysterio with force to the head. Mysterio with a springboard dive at Punk, Punk catches Mysterio on his shoulders, Mysterio then sends Punk into the ropes and connects with a 619. Mysterio springboards up for a splash and Punk sits up. Mysterio crashes on the mat with force. Punk smiles and goes to lay back down over Mysterio for a pin when Mysterio hooks Punk into a pinfall for the three count. Punk is shocked.
Winner: Rey Mysterio
After the match, CM Punk sits back up and can’t believe it as some blood starts to trickle down his head. Rey Mysterio starts to celebrate with the mystery hooded member of S.E.S. hits the ring and takes down Mysterio. Luke Gallows and Serena then come down. Gallows hands Mysterio handcuffs and they start to cuff Mysterio when Kane’s pyro goes off. Kane hits the ring and starts clearing house. Kane with a chokeslam on Punk. Kane with right hands to Gallows on the outside. Mysterio then handcuffs Punk to the ropes. Mysterio with a front 619 to Punk to knock him out. Mysterio then handcuffs the other hand of Punk to the ropes. Mysterio grabs the hair cutters and starts shaving the head of Punk. Punk is screaming as Mysterio starts to shave his head. Punk puts his leg over the arm of Punk to hold Punk down as he continues shaving his head. Mysterio finishes the job and walks off with a hand full of Punk’s hair in his hands. The fans in the front start a “SHAVE HIS CHEST” chant. Serena runs over and puts a towel over Punk’s head. Serena then leaves when Mysterio returns to the ringside area and puts a mirror in Punk’s face. Punk freaks out when he sees himself. We see a replay of Punk getting his hair shaved.
At ringside, Cole, Lawler and Striker plug the Fatal Four Way PPV next month on June 20.
Backstage, Big Show is warming up when Chris Jericho approaches. He thanks Big Show for dropping him as a tag team partner and added that Jericho and Miz never needed him. Miz appears staring down Big Show. Big Show knows Miz is behind him and says if he doesn’t move he will knock him out and then knock Jericho out. Miz and Jericho slowly walk away as Big Show smiles.
WWE Unified Tag Team Championships
The Hart Dynasty (c’s) w/ Natalya vs. Chris Jericho & The Miz
We start with Tyson Kidd and The Miz. Miz drops Kidd early on and hits a few kicks and knees. Kidd floats over and kicks the back of Miz with force. Kidd continues with the kicks connecting to the chest of Miz. Tag to DH Smith who applies a standing hanging vertical suplex on Miz. Smith dumps Miz to the outside and Jericho is next when he tries to interfere. Smith then lifts Kidd high in the air and tosses him at Miz and Jericho on the outside. Back in the ring, Kidd (now the legal man) covers Miz for a two count. Miz then pushes Kidd to the corner and tags in Jericho. A loud “Y2J” chant starts up. Jericho attempts a high back body drop and Kidd lands on his feet and then catches Jericho with a dropkick. Tag to Smith who drops a leg over Jericho. Jericho catches Smith with a big boot and dropkick combo. Miz gets in a cheap shot on Smith with the referee distracted. Jericho with a back suplex on Smith and then applies a side headlock. Smith fights out and responds with a side slam. Tag to Miz who goes to work on Smith with knees to the back and right hands to the head.
Smith gets Miz on his shoulders and hits an electric chair. Tags to Jericho and Kidd. Kidd with a series of dropkicks on Jericho. Kidd with a dropkick to the face to Jericho, drops Miz off the corner and connects with a springboard rollup on Jericho. Jericho counters a huricanrana attempt by Kidd right into the Walls of Jericho. Kidd makes it to the ropes to break it up. Kidd catches Jericho with a kick to the head. Kidd springboards himself back into the ring and Jericho catches him with the Codebreaker. Jericho takes his time, crawls over, hooks the leg and Kidd kicks out after two. Jericho is shocked. Kidd finds a way to respond with a kick to Jericho’s head. Hot tag to Smith who takes out Jericho and Miz with clotheslines and right hands. Smith with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on Jericho. Jericho catches Smith with an elbow and Smith responds with a powerslam into a cover resulting in a close two count. Jericho with a small package that results in a close two count. Jericho and Miz argue with the referee.
On the outside, Natalya trips up Jericho. Smith with a running powerslam on Jericho that results in another close two count. Blind tag to Miz and Smith catches Jericho with a big boot. Miz sneaks in and catches Smith with a big neckbreaker. Miz covers and Smith kicks out. Miz goes on the attack and attempts to apply the Sharpshooter on Smith. Smith breaks it up. Miz attempts a full nelson on Smith. Smith counters sending Miz into Jericho on the ring apron. Miz rolls up Smith for a close two count. Miz with his diving clothesline to the corner. Smith holds on though, walks to the middle of the ring and Kidd gets the tag. Kidd hits the ropes and they execute the Hart Attack on Miz. Kidd covers Miz for the pinfall.

A video package runs highlighting the events between Edge and Randy Orton in the last few weeks starting with Edge being drafted to Monday Night Raw.
Edge vs. Randy Orton
Randy Orton dropped Edge early on with a shoulder block. Edge attempted a comeback, but Orton dropped Edge and then started stomping over his body. Orton drops a huge knee over Edge. Orton with forearm shots to the chest of Edge. Orton catapults Edge’s chest into the bottom rope. When Edge rolls out to get away, Orton follows and Edge drives him into the barricade near the timekeeper. Back in the ring, Edge catches Orton in the gut with his knee and then applies a body scissors submission. Edge drops Orton stomach first over the top rope and then heads up to the top turnbuckle. Orton recovers, cuts Edge off, Edge is able to knock Orton back to the mat, Orton crotches Edge, jumps back up and executes a quick suplex. Edge and Orton exchange right hands. Edge with a big forearm to Orton and Orton responds with a series of clotheslines and a powerslam for a two count. Edge drops Orton with a big boot. Orton with his DDT through the ropes on Edge that results in a two count. Edge attempts a spear and Orton catches Edge with a big kick to the face. Orton then drops to the mat and is ready to strike. As Orton was pounding the mat to pump himself up, he starts favoring his right arm and is struggling to bend it. It looked like he said something to Edge who quickly backed off and rolled to the outside. The referee checks on Orton who walks to the outside. Orton is holding his bicep when he gets near Edge. Edge gets in a few shots and Orton backs up. Edge goes for a spear, Orton moves and Edge hits the padded ring barricade. The referee reaches a 10 count in the ring and calls for the bell.
Winner: No Contest, Double Count Out
After the match, WWE officials and referees hold Edge back as Randy Orton heads to the back still favoring his right forearm. At ringside, Cole, Lawler and Striker discuss the injury to Orton.
A video package highlighting the events between WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger and Big Show on Smackdown in recent weeks leading into tonight’s match.
WWE World Heavyweight Championship
Jack Swagger (c) vs. Big Show
Jack Swagger shoots in for a takedown and Big Show brushes him away quickly. Swagger attempts another takedown and Big Show drops Swagger’s head off his knee. Big Show gets into a grappling exchange with Swagger. Swagger rolls out and can’t believe it. Big Show mocks Swagger by doing a few push ups in the middle of the ring. Big Show chops Swagger on the chest a few times and then steps over his body. Big Show does this a second time. Big Show goes for a chokeslam early on and Swagger counters out and rolls back outside. Big Show grabs Swagger by the hair, lifts him to the ring apron and Swagger drops Big Show’s head off the top rope. Swagger then rolls back in, hits the ropes and spears the leg of Big Show. Swagger with a flying shoulder block to Big Show. Swagger with his springboard body splash in the corner on Big Show. Swagger backs up and does this a second time. Big Show drops Swagger with a series of clotheslines, connects with a body splash in the corner and follows with a big shoulder block dropping Swagger. Big Show attempts another chokeslam, Swagger starts kicking the legs of Big Show and Big Show pushes Swagger over the top rope by his throat. Swagger then grabs his World Heavyweight Championship on the outside, rolls back in and cracks it over the head of Big Show. The referee calls for the bell.

Winner & still WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Jack Swagger
After the bell rings, Jack Swagger hits Big Show with the title belt one more time. Swagger then grabs a steel chair and returns to the ring. Swagger cracks the chair over the back of Big Show. Big Show falls to his knees and then slowly starts to recover. Big Show is almost back up when Swagger hits him over the back again. Big Show stands up again and drops Swagger with a chokeslam. Big Show grabs the steel chair and cracks it over the back of Swagger. Big Show then chokeslams Swagger over the steel chair. Big Show then connects with a knockout punch on Swagger. Big Show then heads to the back smiling as he slaps a few hands. WWE officials help Swagger to the back.
Backstage, Josh Mathews is with Batista. Batista said he heard John Cena scream “I Quit” on Monday night and promises to do the same tonight in Detroit.
WWE Divas Championship
Eve (c) vs. Maryse
Maryse tosses Eve into the steel ring post early on. Maryse drives the face of Eve into the mat and then applies a camel clutch. Eve is tossed to the outside and Maryse tries to kick Eve, but catches the steel ring post instead. Eve tosses Maryse back in the ring and hits a series of dropkicks. Eve with a standing moonsault on Maryse. Eve with a sunset flip on Maryse, but Maryse kicks out and covers Eve. Eve kicks out and Maryse yells at the referee adding, “Do your freaking job!” Eve with a facebuster on Maryse and Maryse gets a shoulder up just before the three count. Maryse counters a rolling senton splash by Eve by getting her knees up. Maryse starts laughing at her counter, attempts her DDT, Eve counters and drops Maryse with her double knee facebuster. Eve covers Maryse for the pinfall.
Winner & still WWE Divas Champion: Eve
After the match, Eve celebrated her win. Jerry Lawler wanted a replay of the finish and then started laughing when he was told in his headset that they would get to see a nice shot of the city of Detroit instead.
A video package runs highlighting the events between John Cena and Batista at last month’s Extreme Rules PPV and the events leading into tonight’s “I Quit” rematch.
WWE Championship – “I Quit” Match
John Cena (c) vs. Batista
After the bell ring, Batista took the mic and gave John Cena the chance to quit right now. The referee asked Cena if he wanted to quit and handed him the mic. Orton said I don’t think so and hits Batista with the mic. Batista rolls out and Cena tries to hit him with a steel chair. Batista dodges it and rolls back in. Batista then drops Cena with a big clothesline. Batista works over Cena in the corner and then catches him with a big elbow. Batista catches Cena with a quick kick and then a big suplex in the middle of the ring. Cena catches Batista with a series of flying shoulder blocks and then plants Batista with his spinning powerbomb. Cena connects with the five knuckle shuffle on Batista. Cena has Batista up on his shoulders, Batista hangs on to the ropes, Cena breaks it and Batista pulls the referee in front of him. Batista then stomps the foot of Cena and catches him with a spear. Batista then locks on his new submission. The referee asks Cena if he wants to quit. Cena tries to fight out, lifts himself up with Batista on his shoulders and flips Batista off of him.
Cena then locks on the STF. Batista is asked if he wants to quit and Batista just screams out in pain. Cena keeps it locked on and Batista eventually passes out. Batista is asked if he wants to quit and Batista is out. Cena breaks the hold, grabs some water and pours it over the head of Batista to wake him up. The referee asks Batista and he screams no. Batista with a spinebuster on Cena and Batista Bomb to follow. The referee asks Cena and Cena says no. Batista goes to the outside and starts clearing both announcers tables off. Batista tosses Cena on the WWE announce table. Cena looks to counter by executing an Attitude Adjustment, but Batista jumps off, tosses Cena up on his shoulders and jumps driving himself and Cena through the Spanish Announce Table instead. The table is in pieces when Batista rolls off Cena. Cena is busted open over his forehead. The referee asks Cena and Cena still says no. WWE staff run down to the ringside area and start to clean up Cena’s cut. Batista tells the doctor attending to Cena to leave and that he will need him later when he is done.
Batista then grabs Cena and tosses him over the padded ring barricade into the crowd. The brawl up the steps into the crowd some more and Batista demands the referee ask Cena if he quits. Cena says no. Batista tries to give Cena a Batista Bomb on the concrete. Cena counters out and then punches Batista off the railing. Batista falls into some WWE staff below. The referee asks Batista and he screams no. Cena walks down and he brawls with Batista back down through the crowd to the entrance ramp area of the stage. Cena gets in a few right hands to the body. Batista finds a chair and starts hitting Cena with it over the back. Cena crawls up to the stage and Batista keeps hitting him over the back with the chair. The referee asks Cena if he wants to quit. Cena says no. Batista continues the shots with the steel chair. Batista then gets in a car that is part of the stage. Batista starts it up, reverses the car towards Cena and hits part of the stage. Some sparks fly as Batista hits the wall of lights. Cena then appears, pulls Batista out of the car and throws him into it.
Cena drops Batista’s face off the hood of the car a few times and then gives him an Attitude Adjustment over the hood of the car as well. The referee asks Batista and he says no. Cena grabs the mic and adds, “I was really hoping you would say that. Cena grabs Batista, drags him to the top of the car, puts him on his shoulders and looks to hit an Attitude Adjustment on the stage when Batista starts yelling that he quits.
Winner & still WWE Champion: John Cena
After the bell rings, John Cena keeps Batista on his shoulders. Cena then hits the Attitude Adjustment sending Batista crashing through the steel stage making a huge hole. The referee hands Cena the WWE Championship and he heads back down to the ring celebrating. Cena then heads back up the ramp and celebrates one more time when Sheamus appears. Sheamus kicks Cena right in the head.
