CMLL

Story on Super Porky’s Return to CMLL

Apparantley the story on Porky’s CMLL return goes like this. Porky was in an airport in a wheelchair due to a leg injury he suffered when he bumped into Paco Alonso (owner of CMLL). Paco got Porky a doctor and then started booking him after he got healthier. Pretty cool for Paco to help a wrestler not doing too good like that but he didn’t really have to put him at the top of the card right off the bat.

Ashley Massaro Appears in CMLL
Former WWE diva and Playboy playmate made an appearance at Friday’s Arena Mexico Show (along with other former Playmates) and claimed she was hoping to talk to CMLL about working for them. Good lord have mercy.

Luchadora Injures TV Star

Former AAA star luchadora, Martha Villalobos, appeared on a Mexican TV show called Desmadrgua2 this week. Neither sides of said anything about it but it has made headlines all over Mexico. Not sure if it’s a stunt or just an accident or what.

INDY & OTHER NEWS

CHIKARA Sets Up Loser Leaves Town Match

This week CHIKARA announced that on the 11/21 Easton, PA show Hydra and Tim Donst will face off in a Loser Leaves Town Match! The former tag team partners will face off one-on-one and the loser will have to leave CHIKARA for good!

Blue Demon Jr. & El Hijo del Santo – Mask Match Possibility?
Recently Blue Demon & Santo have restarted their rivalry all across Mexico and the Mask vs. Mask Challenge has been thrown out there, this time with the suggestion that it take place on The Bicentennial of the Independence of Mexico (in 2010). Would it be incredible? Hell yes. Would it be historical? Hell yes. Would CMLL or AAA (or anyone else in Mexico for that matter) be willing to KILL to have that match take place on one of their cards? Hell yes! Is this likely to happen? Hell nope. I just do not see either one of these guys dropping their historical masks unless one of the two is ready to hang up the boots for good which I definitely do not see as being anytime soon since both are relatively healthy and still capable of wrestling at a high level.

Amazing Red to be Masked?
Rumors going around the internet (primarily on Super Luchas) are saying that TNA is thinking about putting Amazing Red under a mask to feud with Suicide. Red is currently the TNA X-Division Champion and coming off the biggest 2 wins of his career, first over Samoa Joe to win the belt and then his first Bound for Glory and Ultimate X win a few weeks later. Red has actually wrestled in a mask before, wrestling in Japan and in the American INDY’s under the name Fuego Guerrero. I’m not sure how this would work out but working toward a Mask vs. Mask Match in TNA could be cool and they do need one or two more non-Shark Boy masked wrestlers. TNA has been rumored to be looking at some luchadores from Mexico as well. Team CMLL (Ultimo Guerrero, Rey Bucanero, Volador Jr., & Averno) were over huge in last years World X-Cup.

Perros del Mal Press Conference
This week Perro Aguayo Jr.’s PdM held a press conference, but they weren’t there to talk about an upcoming show or their TV show but rather the names of some of their wrestlers. Several former AAA stars (El Alebrije, El Oriental, Psicosis II, Histeria, & Charly Manson) have been using their names and personas from AAA in PdM (and on the INDY’s). Well, AAA sent many letters to INDY’s around Mexico telling them to not use those wrestlers under those names or they would be sued and also sent one to PdM. Perro argues that all the workers own their names and personas which I highly doubt unless AAA signed those names over to those guys during their runs in AAA (less likely than anything else). Also, Psicosis II and Histeria aren’t even the original men under those masks. Nicho (still in AAA) is the original Psicosis and Super Crazy is the original Histeria so those two have absolutely no argument. They will most likely either have to a) suck it up and find a new name/gimmick or b) suck it up and go back to AAA.

Lady Apache Coming to PWR
This week Pro Wrestling Revolution announced that CMLL star luchadora, Lady Apache, would be debuting in PWR in 2010.

5) Hector Garza, Mistico, & Sagrado def. Felino, Negro Casas, & Mr. Niebla
* NOTES *
– This is a pretty crazy card. Former CMLL stars (Mr. Aguilita & Pequeno Halloween) and former AAA stars (El Oriental, Histeria, & Psicosis II) on the same card as current CMLL stars (the Main Event) plus other INDY stars.
– The Cage Match was pretty much a Death Match inside a Steel Cage where the loser would have his head shaved. Which meant the masked wrestlers would have to remove their mask (still covering their face). Things like light tubes, sheets of glass, and even a fridge door were used in the match. It came down to Histeria and Hijo del Cien Caras with Caras getting the pin on the former Los Vipers member.
