It’s time once again for your weekly ROH on HDNet recap! So, sit back, relax, open a cold one, and get ready for RING OF HONOR WRESTLING!
Here’s how things went down this week:
-We start the night off with a video package featuring our two competitors in the main event! Tonight’s main event will be for the ROH TV Title! ROH TV Champion, Eddie Edwards, will defend his crown against the “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels!
COLT “BOOM BOOM” CABANA def. MIKE MONDO
–COMMERCIAL–
-Back from break and we revisit what went down last week between Homicide and Jim Cornette! We also see the replay of what went down in 2006 between these two! Last week, Cornette told Homicide that he was the new #1 contender for the ROH World Title!
-Truth Martini and the ROH World Heavyweight Champion, Roderick Strong, are in the ring. Martini starts off and runs his mouth about trusting him and what he stands for. He continues to say that he’s always searching for souls that he can mold and eager minds that are always searching for the truth! WOW! This guy is such a tool! Anyway, Truth goes on and praises Strong for how he found the truth and that people need to respect and get the approval of Strong. Truth introduces what apparently is gonna be Strong’s tag partner in this up coming match, Michael Elgin! WHO?! LOL
ROH WORLD CHAMP RODERICK STRONG & MICHAEL ELGIN def. ALEX SILVA & CHRISJEN HAYME
-A video is shown of the main event from last week where it was Haas and Benjamin vs. The All Night Express, Kenny King and Rhett Titus! Pretty solid match last week from both of these teams! The better team last week was Haas and Benjamin!
–COMMERCIAL–
-Back from break and a replay of MsChif’s spitting in the face of Daizee Haze is shown! She says that Sara Del Rey is next on her list! This chick likes to scream a lot!
WOMEN OF HONOR MATCH
SARA DEL REY def. TAELER HENDRIX
-A video is shown of the 8 teams involved in next week’s match is shown! All the teams give their thoughts on each other. We hear comments from the Briscoes, Haas and Benjamin, The All Night Express, and the Kings of Wrestling. Should be a great match next week! ROH is most definitely known for their tag team wrestling!
MAIN EVENT
ROH TV TITLE MATCH
EDDIE EDWARDS (champ) vs. “FALLEN ANGEL” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS
-One point during the match, the 15 minute time limit passed and the ref called for a time limit draw decision! Edwards grabs the mic and tells Daniels that he doesn’t want to retain the title this way and demands for 5 more minutes in the match! Edwards wish was granted! The match continued!
WINNER and NEW ROH WORLD TV CHAMPION: “FALLEN ANGEL” CHRISTOPHER DANIELS!
FINAL THOUGHTS
WOW! Really entertaining show tonight from the ROH folks! I can feel the build up for the 9th Anniversary show coming up!
-Our first match saw the goofiest man in wrestling, Mike Mondo, taking on another goof in pro wrestling, Colt Cabana! I really enjoy watching the comic styles of Cabana each week in ROH! I had a chance to see Colt in person several weeks ago and he was just as entertaining then as well! Pretty slow match, in my opinion, but Cabana picked up the victory over that idiot, Mike Mondo!
-We then see that douche bag, Truth Martini, in the ring! Every time I see him, I can’t help but think about that movie, The Fly! His stupid Coke bottle glasses remind me of a giant fly ready to attack! Anyway, I didn’t really pay too much attention to what he was muttering in the ring, but somehow we were introduced to a new member of the House of Truth tonight, Michael Elgin! Not too bad of a wrestler, but when it comes to the Truth, I never pay attention! Not sure why this angle was thrown our way tonight, but I guess we will never know the TRUTH! LOL
-Our women’s match tonight saw the domination by the Queen of Wrestling, Sara Del Rey! This match was pretty much a squash match from the start! Del Rey always seems to prove how dominate she is each week! I would assume that a match with MsChif is in her future for the Anniversary show!
-Lastly, our main event! What an incredible match between Edwards and Daniels for the ROH TV Title! It came down to the first 15 minutes of the match expiring and an additional 5 minutes were added! These two men seemed to want to go on forever, but in the long run we celebrate our new ROH TV champion…..CHRISTOPHER DANIELS!!!! This was a great pay-per-view quality match on HDNet! I, for one, cannot wait to see a rematch between two of the best in ROH!
